Class Descriptions

Ballet & Jazz
This class combines the foundational technique of ballet with the energy and style of jazz. Dancers will build strength, flexibility, and proper alignment through ballet while also developing coordination, turns, jumps, and performance quality in jazz. This well-rounded class is perfect for dancers looking to grow technically while expressing themselves through movement.

Ballet & Tap
The goal of our dance program is to instill a love of dance. Our youngest dancers learn basic ballet and tap movements in a positive and fun environment. Proper technique is taught through creative dances and imagination. Each class starts with ballet and transitions to tap. These 45-minute structured classes are grouped by ages. As dancers’ journey through this comprehensive curriculum, they grow in developmentally appropriate skills.

Acro Tumbling
Acro is a style of training that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. It is very athletic and seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics/tumbling techniques. Dancers will learn and practice proper and safe tumbling techniques and learn how to do proper somersaults, back rolls, and cartwheels. Once those are mastered handsprings, Tucks and other advanced skills will be added

Mini Competition Team
Joining a competitive dance team is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for young dancers! Not only will they grow as performers and develop their technique, but they’ll also build confidence, teamwork, and discipline while having fun.
Our Mini Competition Teams are designed for dancers who are ready to take their training to the next level. These teams will focus on perfecting their skills in both tap and jazz routines throughout the season.

Jazz & Tap
Jazz is the most popular dance form among dancers. Its movements are big, exaggerated, and there is typically an attitude the dancer wants to convey to the audience. Jazz emphasizes isolation, which is moving one part of the body such as the head, shoulder, or pelvis, while the rest of the body is still. It also emphasizes suspension, which is moving through a position rather than balancing. It is fast paced. This class is designed to introduce jazz technique, focusing on basic jazz positions, turns, jumps, and leaps. Students will also learn center and loco motor progressions as well as proper stretching techniques to enhance strength and flexibility. Basic Jazz dance terminology is discussed as well as stage directions, center and across the floor techniques, and short choreographed combinations. Tap is a syncopated dance style that is exhilarating and great fun! Tap classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound with an emphasis on clear tap sounds and showmanship.

Production Team
Production Dance is an exciting opportunity for dancers to come together as a large group and work toward a dynamic, performance-ready piece. This class focuses on styles such as Musical Theater, Jazz, or Lyrical, allowing dancers to develop strong stage presence, teamwork, and performance quality.

Jr Competition Team
Our Junior Competition Team is designed for dancers who are ready to pursue their dance education at a higher level and further develop their skills. Dancers will train and perform in Jazz, Contemporary, and Lyrical routines, focusing on technique, performance quality, and teamwork in a supportive and motivating environment.

Petite Competition Team
Joining a competitive dance team is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for young dancers! Not only will they grow as performers and develop their technique, but they’ll also build confidence, teamwork, and discipline while having fun.

Contemporary
CONTEMPORARY
Class Description:
This expressive class blends elements of ballet, jazz, and modern dance to help dancers develop emotional connection and storytelling through movement. Dancers will explore fluidity, control, and dynamics while building strong technique and artistry. Emphasis is placed on musical interpretation, improvisation, and performance quality in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Senior Competition Team
Joining a competitive dance team can be an incredibly rewarding experience. Not only will you be able to express yourself through dance, but you'll also develop a variety of new skills. Our dance team groups are for those dancers who want to pursue their dance education & further their skills. The Senior teams will hone their skills in a Jazz, Contemporary and Lyrical . Each team will compete in 2 mandatory competitions.

Ballet/Lyrical
Ballet/ Lyrical teaches a combination of skills and terminology used in beginner ballet and jazz classes. Grace and fluidity of movement are prioritized, in addition to proper body alignment, center of balance, and beginning turns, jumps, and floor work.

Broadway Babies
Our Broadways Babies dance class is designed to help your child develop social, motor, and cognitive skills throughout their toddler years. This class is available to children ages 18-36 months. The class is introduced with mom, dad or caregivers participating with their dancer. As the year progresses, adults may slowly filter out of the classroom. Each 30 minute class is thoughtfully designed to cater to your toddler’s short attention span. Along with the support of you right by their side, your dancer will have time to explore and have fun!

Tiny Dancers
This fun and engaging class introduces young dancers to the joy of movement through music, rhythm, and imagination! Caregivers are encouraged to participate by holding their baby or toddler while gently guiding them through movement, helping them feel safe, connected, and engaged. Dancers will explore basic dance concepts using songs, props, and creative activities that build coordination, balance, and listening skills. With a focus on self-expression and play, this class helps develop confidence while nurturing a love for dance in a positive and energetic environment.

Pointe
Pointe technique is one of the major components of classical ballet, in which the weight of the dancer is supported up on the tips of the feet, appearing poised, graceful, and weightless. It's one of the most iconic elements of dancing ballet.

Musical Theater
Musical theatre dance has a rich history and has evolved alongside the changing landscape of performing arts, becoming a vital storytelling tool. – It encompasses a range of disciplines such as classical ballet, jazz, and tap, each with their unique characteristics and demands.

Hip Hop
This high-energy class focuses on the fundamentals of hip-hop, including popping, locking, and breakdancing. Dancers begin with a center warm-up, then progress through isolations, coordination exercises, and technique training. Emphasis is placed on developing musicality, helping dancers learn how to interpret and express rhythmic qualities of music through movement.
